Participating the Nordic Police Research Conference June 14th-16th 2021
Welcome to the virtual Conference! We hope that you will find it both informative, enlightening, relaxed, and easy to navigate between the events.
The following protocol is to cater the deck for the most enjoyable Conference experience for the largest number of the attendees. Please pay attention to the following:
1: Join a meeting at least 10-15 minutes in advance.
2: Before joining a meeting, make sure that your microphone and video are turned off (once you have joined, assure that they remain turned off).
3: Use a head-set, if available.
4: You can open the microphone and video, when your name is printed in the Conference programme at the specific session, you play the role of facilitator or an open discussion has been announced, you have raised a virtual hand for a speaking turn and the facilitator, after noticing it, has given the turn to you.
5: Always turn off the microphone as soon as you have come to the end of your last line (do your best to keep the communication concise, short and pithy).
6: The Conference sessions offer only a limited opportunity to put forward comments or questions by voice, but extended possibilities for discussions by text messages (“chat”). Please note that the facilitator will follow the chat dedicated to the session. The speakers or presenters can respond to the questions and comments either at the session, between them (breaks) or later. The conference is thus carrying on other platforms even when there is no one giving a speech or presenting their research work.
7: Scrutinise the material put forward at the PreConference – it assists in becoming well-prepared for constructive participation especially in the working groups, where your colleagues share the results from their research projects or their theoretical work.
8: Do not hesitate to contact the person(s) presenting a poster at the date and time specified – they are happy to share their expertise with you. Please note too that there could be others online at the same time. Wait your turn patiently then.
9: Do not share or publish your personal ticket to the Conference. Please note that your ticket will not arrive but a day in advance and that you will receive an individual ticket for the PreConference and the Conference.
10: Support us in organising the Conference by following this protocol.
Thank you for participating the 8th Nordic Police Research Conference organised by the Police University College, Finland. We appreciate your contribution and look forward to meeting you online in June 14th-16th 2021!
